Since on January 1, 2014 insurers can no longer deny coverage to applicants with pre-existing conditions, there will also be no need for HIRSP, the Health Insurance Risk Sharing Pool.
HIRSP has served for years as the safety net for individuals unable to obtain health insurance coverage. But on December 31st, coverage for about 22,000 HIRSP enrollees will sunset.
Not to worry. Multiple options for a seamless transition to new coverage are available. Click here for more details.
