Tip 149- No ID Card? Now What?

This year, insurers are experiencing unprecedented enrollments. We’re told some new policyholders won’t receive their ID cards until well after January 1st.

So what do you do if you need care before you have proof of coverage?

Most pharmacies and doctors’ offices have direct access to insurer’s databases. If you aren’t yet ‘in the system,’ you may be required to pay cash (charge) for care.

Those charges can be reprocessed later in the month. If you applied for coverage with an agent or broker, they’ll be happy to help.
