Tip 169- Health Care Cost Institute In The News

I call your attention to the Health Care Cost Institute; a “non-profit, independent, non-partisan research institute dedicated to creating the United States’ most comprehensive source of information on health care activity and promoting research on the drivers of escalating health care costs.”

In mid-May, the HCCI announced that it will work with three of the nation’s largest health insurance companies, Aetna, Humana and United Healthcare, to develop and provide consumers free access to an online tool that will offer the most comprehensive information about the price and quality of health care services.

That kind of collaboration is rare, refreshing and, for those who believe transparency of health care costs is critical, promising.
