“My health insurance is still linked to my maiden name. What do I do?”
When a female employee gets married, the insurance company needs to know if her name has changed. Also be sure to let the insurer know if the employee is adding their new spouse to the plan. Ditto for when a baby is born.
Remind your employees of the need to file “Change Forms”. (Life insurance Beneficiary Change Forms also need to be kept current.) You can do that with payroll stuffers. Or posters. Or in an employee meeting.
A little preparation could save you from that angry phone call.
