Tip 6- Does Your Health Plan Sugger From “Open Bar” Syndrome?

HSA plans with 100% coverage after the deductible are on average about 11% more expensive than those that have additional cost sharing; i.e., 80%/20% co‐insurance after the deductible. Once the deductible is met, it’s like an open bar for the patient… everything is “free”, without having to think about consumption.
