Wisconsin Act 146 requires hospitals to prepare a document that discloses to consumers the
average payment from third party payers (i.e., insurers) for inpatient care for each of 75
diagnosis‐related groups (DRGs).

Here are some examples from one hospital:

• DRG 301; Hip replacement ‐ $28,088
• DRG 165; Coronary Bypass with Cardiac Catheterization ‐ $77,599
• DRG 560; Normal newborn delivery ‐ $7,095
• DRG 302; Knee replacement ‐ $24,638
