Tip 7- Late Enrollments Cause Headaches

Some insurance company rules seem inflexible, but their rules really are NOT intended just to drive HR managers bonkers!

Take for example enrollment deadlines.

Yes, it is prudent to have a 60‐ or 90‐day waiting period before a new hire is eligible for coverage. But you simply can’t forget to submit their paperwork on time. Otherwise, the employee will be a “late entrant”.

Create a Benefits Packet for all new hires. Then add a tickler to your calendar so that you are sure to collect and submit all completed paperwork to your insurers prior to the new hire’s effective date.

Avoid a major liability.
