Tip 140- Are You Stuck On The Marketplace?

Since the October 1st launch, much has been written about the frustration of gaining access to the Affordable Care Act “Marketplace” website at www.HealthCare.gov.

Maybe you don’t need to deal with the hassle.

Know this. Health insurance premiums are the same whether you buy coverage directly from an insurer – on their websites or through their agents – or, on the ACA “Marketplace.”

Those with lower incomes however, may be eligible for ACA premium subsidies that are only available through The Marketplace. Click here for the Kaiser Family Foundation Subsidy Calculator.

So, check out whether or not you are eligible for premium support. If not, skip the ACA website.

For coverage effective on or after January 1, 2014, insurers must accept all applicants, regardless of pre-existing conditions.

For most, “glitch” free enrollment – through insurers and agents – is just a phone call away.
