Tip #377: Are You Counting The Calories?

On average, you need to consume about 2,260 calories per day to maintain your weight. Subtract 500 calories/day and you’ll lose a pound each week.  Add 500 calories, and you’ll gain a pound each week. (Results vary by age, lifestyle and other factors.)

I found these figures and a ‘Calorie Calculator’ at a website you can access here.

We all know diet and weight contribute to good health, but counting calories is front of mind thanks to our Milwaukee Brewers. I’ve tuned in to every game over the last three weeks. Have you noticed how long some of them have been? So long, I’ve been forced (?) to consume a beverage (or two) and a few snacks!

And now I’m going to collect my free burger (+ 350 calories).

What the heck. Let’s keep it going for another two weeks. Have fun.

Then go for a 45 minute walk (-350 calories).

P.S. The Medicare Open Enrollment Period starts tomorrow (10/15) and runs thru December 7th. If you’re happy with your coverage, you don’t have to do anything. If you want to explore changes, please give us a call.
