Tip 66- “King Me”

No, this ‘Tip’ isn’t about Checkers. (I wish it was.)

I had a 30 year old filling fail recently and needed my very first crown. Faced with a bill for $1,362, I didn’t feel very royal!

Fortunately, I opted in to my (enlightened) employer’s voluntary dental plan. The premium is $42.00 a month. Like most dental plans, the policy pays 50% for this category of service after negotiated discounts. My out of pocket was $567.

BTW, the policy also paid 100% of the comprehensive exam which preceded the crown. I’m ahead for the year and it’s only May.

Still, I’m giving up corn nuts!

P.S. Individuals can buy the same comprehensive coverage as those in groups.
